Our neighbors experiencing homelessness need compassionate policies that support their ability to find stable housing and support, not policies that criminalize their existence.Â
Here's what you can do to help:
Attend the public hearing at the Capitol on Wed, Feb 18 and deliver public testimony.
The hearing will take place at 1:30 PM in room 1525 of the Nebraska State Capitol building. Check out this post from us on how to prepare to make your voice heard at the Capitol, with info on everything from travel logistics to testimony tips.
Submit public comments online before 8 AM on Wed, Feb 18.
Contact the members of the Judiciary Committee via email, phone call, or letter.Â
You can find the members of the Judiciary Committee here. This committee is the group of senators who will hold the public hearing and decide whether to advance LB 925. Urge them not to advance the bill.
Contact your state senator and ask that they vote NOÂ if LB 925 advances.
If LB 925 advances, the full legislature will get to debate and vote on it. Find your senator here and urge them to oppose LB 925.
