Whether you're a seasoned advocate, or new to the world of local politics—we are so glad you're here.
This last week has been a whirlwind. From attacks on immigrants at the federal level, to state legislation targeting trans youth, the incoming federal administration threatens the way of life for thousands of Nebraskans.
Luckily, Omaha is ready to stand up and fight back. This Friday, our friend Whitney hosted us at Bad Seed Coffee for an event featuring a diverse set of organizations committed to action in Omaha and beyond. We were honored to sit alongside the following organizations.
If you missed the event, no worries. Here's a list of digital downloads for all the materials our organization had at the event.
If you're new to our work, welcome! We provide:
Civic education focused on local government (including our annual Omaha city budget workshop)
Bill tracking and action items on topics like reproductive justice, LGBTQ+ rights, prisons/policing reform and abolition, worker's rights, and more
Postcards and letter-writing workshops on contacting your elected officials
Action items/news on other community initiatives and events
Want some more postcards? Have literally any question about local government? Send us a DM on socials, or email hello@stronglywordedomaha.org and we'll figure it out together.
